CanCham Mexico

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Mexico is the voice of Canadian companies, founded in 1982 and currently with more than 250 Members in Mexico and Canada.

 

Part of the topics that CanCham has addressed in recent weeks have been about Nearshoring, Compliance in Foreign Trade, Deep Fake, Communication in Global Business and Carbon Bonds.

 

CanCham had the opportunity to attend the Ecomondo Fair at Expo Guadalajara, the most important meeting of environmental and solar technology. Through the Consulate of Canada in Guadalajara, who organized a trade mission, gave a special presentation on "Smart Solutions in Water Treatment." Canadian companies, such as Solfium and Canadian Solar, showed the most important and innovative solutions. 

 

Also, CanCham was present at the Mexico Aerospace Fair. Through a mission organized between the Canadian Embassy in Mexico and the Québec Delegation in Mexico, we were able to learn about the innovations and tools that allow us to have access to the highest technology. Some of the Canadian companies present were: Bombardier, Nitrex, TopFlight, VacAero, Liburdi, MDA.

 

As part of the success case of the Mexico-Canada Business Community, is LOSIFRA, a Mexican company dedicated to wooden packaging whose commitment to sustainability and promoting the best environmental practices has allowed them to be present in the program of Circular Economy promoted by the Secretariat of Sustainable Development of the State of Queretaro. Some of the actions they have carried out is to use wood of legal origin from sustainable or plantation forests. Nowadays, 75% of the energy used comes from solar panels. They have promoted the reuse and recycling of material that is not optimal for their mission to create furniture that facilitates to their own collaborators, schools and shelters for dogs, this is an expression of their commitment to the UN 2030 agenda.

 

Similarly, we highlight the opening of the Samuel, Son & Co. Mexico plant in Queretaro, which represents a Canadian investment of 35 million dollars. Samuel, Son & Co is dedicated to the processing, storage and distribution of various metals such as steel, aluminum for the automotive sector, energy, oil and gas.
