Levy Barragán is the founder and current director of Spotlight Montreal (www.spotlightmontreal.ca), a trilingual digital platform dedicated to showcasing initiatives, achievements, and opportunities across the entrepreneurial, social, commercial, industrial, tourism, and cultural sectors in Montreal and Mexico. Through this platform, she fosters meaningful connections between communities while promoting intercultural dialogue and collaboration.

As General Director of Levy & Socios, an independent publishing house, she leads a multidisciplinary team of creative and editorial professionals—including designers, copy editors, and scriptwriters—who bring their expertise to the conception, development, and production of outstanding editorial projects.

She is also the creator of Women Who Inspire, a collaborative book series celebrating the voices, achievements, and stories of women whose influence transcends borders. The series includes From the Women of Querétaro to the World (Mexico), Connections (Montréal), Women Without Limits (Manitoba), Women Who Heal (Montreal), and Connexions (Montreal).

A member of the World Association of Women Journalists and Writers (AMMPE) since 2008, she served as President of the Querétaro–Mexico chapter from 2014 to 2018 and again from 2020 to 2021. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in promoting and co-organizing the 21st AMMPE World Congress, Women: The Other Half of History, held in October 2014. The congress brought together women journalists and writers from several countries within the association’s international network, providing a valuable forum for dialogue, professional exchange, and the advancement of women’s voices in journalism and literature.

In 2023, she actively championed the establishment of AMMPE Canada, helping to expand the association’s international presence. She currently serves as Vice President of the Canadian chapter, continuing her commitment to empowering women, strengthening international partnerships, and advancing recognition of women’s contributions to journalism, literature, and society.
