Kicking off the fall season of Montreal's most important philanthropic events, the 23rd edition of the Grand Bal des Vins-Cœurs, organized by the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation (MHIF), took place on Thursday, September 7.
While the previous edition brought together nearly 500 people and raised a total of $1.1 million, the 23rd edition brought together nearly 900 people from the business, financial, cultural, sports and social communities and raised $1,380,000 for cardiovascular health.

This sum will be dedicated to scientific research, active prevention and precision medicine, with the aim of improving the cardiovascular prognosis of patients.
The main sponsors were Power Sustainable, Scotiabank, Power Corporation of Canada and PearTree, as well as founding partners Groupe Cirque du Soleil and SAQ.

In Canada, nine out of ten people over the age of 20 have at least one risk factor for cardiovascular disease. To reverse this trend by 30% by 2030, the MHI and its Foundation are investing, thanks to the support of generous donors, in cutting-edge fields that will help achieve this goal.
The Montreal Heart Institute Foundation was created in 1977 and has since raised over $380 million in grants to support the innovative, priority projects of the Montreal Heart Institute (MHI), founded in 1954. Since then, it has maintained the highest standards of excellence as Canada's largest cardiology research center, cardiovascular prevention center and cardiovascular genetics center. Affiliated with the Université de Montréal, the MHI employs over 2,000 people, including 245 physicians and more than 85 researchers.
