Latina women shining in Montreal
International Women's Day is commemorated in March, and Spotlight Montreal has the purpose of making visible five brilliant Latina women who, with their work, talent and perseverance, are generating economic, social and cultural value in Montreal. The solidity of their trajectories, their social involvement and their entrepreneurial spirit inspire migrant women not to give up and achieve their dreams.
Ms. Mejia has over 15 years of experience as a manager specializing in foreign investment attraction, international trade negotiations and international business development. She currently directs Arrive Inc., which provides support and guidance to Quebec companies welcoming foreign workers, particularly to promote their integration into Quebec society.
In the past, she directed the Mexican Trade Commission in Montreal and was at the forefront of the negotiations that allowed Bombardier Aerospace to establish its facility in Mexico. She was a director of MEQ, the Quebec Manufacturers and Exporters Association, and of Développement économique de l'Agglomération de Longueuil.
She was responsible for business development for a sustainable design company in Montreal and was a professor of international logistics at Cégep André-Laurendeau.
She has extensive experience in Quebec's economic and entrepreneurial ecosystem and has worked to promote the integration of immigrants and newcomers to Quebec.
Ana E sits on the Board of Directors of Projet Montréal, the political party in power in the City of Montréal, as the representative of the Women's Committee. She was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Québec-Latin America Chamber of Commerce (QUÉtAL) and served as its President until November 2022. In January 2021, she was named Ambassador of Diversity by Concertation Montréal.
She holds a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, a degree in International Trade from Tecnológico de Monterrey and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Laval University.
Socially committed, Ana E. Mejia has also been a volunteer representative of a Quebec blues band and assistant director of a theater company composed of actors with and without intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders and people from diverse backgrounds.
Now at the helm of Arrivie, she continues her mission to combine business satisfaction and employee well-being.
"I have worked in many fields in my life. Now it is time to give something back to the community and that is why I am working for a better integration of newcomers and for a more just and inclusive society".
